ESELBE CAMP BACKPACKERS

Do you like a laid-back and familiar atmosphere where you can easily socialise with other travellers? Are you an adventurer, a cyclist or a biker, on the road with your own car, or a backpacker travelling using public transport? Or are you looking for a relaxed weekend getaway to recharge your batteries?
No matter which mode of transport you are using, if you are on a long-term adventure or on a shorter trip, Eselbe Camp Backpackers in Nata may be the perfect place for you.
We offer all kinds of accommodation and we are certain there will be the right one for you.
WE ARE LOCATED IN NATA, BOTSWANA
Nata is the gateway town to Eastern Botswana, with access to the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, well known for its elephants, giraffes and ostriches that can be seen from the roadside. Eselbe Camp is the perfect stopover if you are on your way to Maun to visit the Okavango Delta or Kasane to visit the Chobe National Park.
Nata offers you one of the Top 10 Activities in Botswana: Every year thousands of flamingos and pelicans gather in their breeding grounds at the Nata Bird Sanctuary, only a 20 minutes' drive away from Eselbe Camp.
Eselbe Camp is directly located along the banks of the Nata River, offering scenic views and tranquil surroundings, amazing birdlife and in the evening stargazing by the fireside.
THE CAMP

Central to the camp is a fire pit, where you can easily meet other guests from around the world, share stories and adventures and enjoy open-air cooking. Next to the fire pit and Braai/BBQ facilities you will find a big dining table where we like to enjoy our food together with our guests and exchange cooking techniques and travel tips.
If you just want to relax, you can either make yourself comfortable in one of our hammocks or enjoy our sofas in the lounge area - either way, you can stay connected as there is wifi access throughout the camp. If you need a break from being online, you can enjoy a good book or just listen to the sound of nature and the singing of all the many birds in & around the camp.
Aside from free use of our canoes for our guests, we also have some board games, a volleyball court, badminton and the golf challenge.
We are an ecological campsite running on solar power and we support recycling & zero-waste ideas. We live in harmony with the nature and the wildlife thus we want to reduce our impact on the environment as much as possible.
We absolutely loved our stay at Eselbe - Rupert is super friendly and welcoming. A great place to hang, relax and meet other people. The food was also brilliant. There's everything you might need. Would have happily stayed a bit longer if possible!

An incredible stay in Botswana, it's great when you arrive at a village and the staff make you feel good, they explain things and teach you the facilities in a dream. Now we will feel at home, we can use the canoes, we have a campfire fan every night and it is a space to share and talk to other travelers while listening to the fire. The kitchen is very well equipped. I can see many stars. The water heats up all hours, and you tend to have a lot of good sleep, and you can sleep a lot, totally recommendable, and an incredible staff.

A truly unique and charming place. Everything has a rustic, creative, and authentic feel, with countless handmade details and repurposed materials. From the furniture to the bathroom and common areas, it's clear they've created this place with a lot of imagination. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. They also organize a communal dinner with local cuisine with prior reservation—a fantastic way to share a meal, sample regional dishes, and meet other travelers. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxed, surrounded by nature, with cats, chickens, and cozy little corners where you can sit and unwind. Don't expect conventional accommodations or extravagant luxuries: its charm lies precisely in its simplicity and in offering a truly unique experience. A place with real personality, the kind you'll remember long after your trip. Highly recommended!
